Job description

My client in the Ossett area require an experienced Tig Welder.

You’ll be working with stainless steel, aluminium, and titanium, bringing blueprints to life with your TIG expertise.

Job Duties:
  • TIG welding stainless steel, mild steel, zintec, and aluminium to a consistently high standard using a foot pedal — with material thickness typically between 1mm and 3mm.
  • Fabricating and welding box section frames and assemblies with tight tolerances and excellent attention to detail.
  • Dressing and finishing your own work to a top-quality standard using a variety of hand tools, including electric angle grinders and pneumatic orbital sanders.
  • Checking that all parts meet the required drawings and work instructions to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Completing tasks within the planned timeframes, maintaining a high level of productivity and workmanship.
  • Supporting the development of new products to meet customer requirements for light to medium fabrications — including fabricating your own jigs and fixtures when needed.
  • Carrying out general sheet metal work and finishing tasks to assist the wider fabrication department as required.
What we are looking for:
  • Proven TIG welding skills with a keen eye for detail and high-quality standards.
  • Confident working to strict processes — our client holds BSI accreditation to aerospace standard (AS 9100), so you’ll need to be comfortable completing paperwork accurately and following written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from customer drawings.
  • Reliable and self‑motivated — able to produce precise work independently and thrive as part of a team.
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing or similar hands‑on environment.
  • A positive team player with good communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
