Job summary

Cavendish Nuclear is hiring TIG-MMA Welders for the Hinkley Point C project in Bridgwater, with day and night shifts on offer. Earn competitive ECSA pay with enhanced overtime and a comprehensive benefits package.

Role involves welding to radiographic standards, equipment inspections, and strict adherence to welding procedures and safety rules. Suitable candidates will have Level 2/3 Welding qualifications and a CCNSG Safety Passport.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Welding or Fabrication or welding apprenticeship.
• CCNSG Safety Passport required.
• ISO 9606 standards knowledge expected for test entries.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding operations to radiographic standard.
• Conduct equipment inspections.
• Adhere to welding protocols and safety regulations including fume control.
• Identify and report potential welding problems for corrective action.
• Identify welds for quality control.
• Follow QC procedures and documentation standards.

Cavendish Nuclear are seeking experienced Day Shift and Night Shift TIG-MMA Welders to join our team on the prestigious Hinkley Point C project. The Role

• Perform welding operations to a radiographic standard.
• Conduct equipment inspections.
• Adhere to established welding protocols and safety regulations, including fume control.
• Identify and report potential welding problems for corrective action.
• Ability to identify your own welds for quality control.
• Comply with established quality control procedures and documentation standards.

You are a great fit if you have proven experience in the following

• Experience in welding operations to a radiographic standard and welding to different materials, especially Carbon Steel and Austenitic Stainless Steel.

Qualifications

TIG Welders required for high integrity pipe welding and Structural (MMA) Welders required for pipe supports and brackets at Hinkley Point C. Suitable candidates will be required to test out to the following ISO 9606 standards:

• SWQ 02 - 2\"Nb XXS Carbon Steel Pipe Weld, H-L045, TIG throughout with an ER 70 S-6 wire
• SWQ 04 - 2\"Nb XXS Stainless Steel Pipe Weld, H-L045, TIG throughout, ER 70 S-6 wire and 316L Tig rod
• SWQ 70 - Multi Pass Fillet Weld completed on a 60 x 60 x 5mm Box Section to a 200 x 200 x 12mm plate utilizing the MMA welding Process7018 Low Hydrogen Electrodes completed in the PH position
• SWQ-22 - Multi Pass Fillet Weld completed on a 60 x 60 x 6mm Box Section to a 200 x 200 x 12mm Plate utilizing the TIG welding process, 316L Tig wire completed in the PH welding position
• SWQ 19 - Multi Pass Fillet Weld completed on a 60 x 60 x 5mm Box Section to a 200 x 200 x 12mm plate utilizing the TIG welding process, ER 70 S-6 Tig wire completed in the PH position

Suitable candidates must be able to provide evidence of:

• Level 2 or Level 3 Diploma in Welding or Fabrication discipline or Welding apprenticeship or an equivalent apprenticeship in a Welding discipline
• CCNSG Safety Passport
