Job summary

Darktrace is seeking a curious Threat Research Analyst to join our Malware Team. You will investigate threats, analyze datasets, and shape how we detect evolving attacker techniques.

The role follows a hybrid model with at least two days per week in Cambridge or London. You will produce high-quality threat intelligence, develop detections, and present findings at conferences, collaborating with security researchers, analysts, and product teams to strengthen Darktrace's threat intelligence

Qualifications

• Background in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
• Understanding of OS, networking concepts, system internals and security fundamentals.
• Experience with Python, PowerShell, or C/C++ for data analysis and tooling.
• Experience analysing structured and unstructured datasets to derive insights.
• Familiarity with malware analysis, threat intelligence, forensics, or reverse engineering.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth analysis of cyber threats, malware, and TTPs.
• Proactively hunt for emerging threats and identify attack trends.
• Produce threat intelligence reports, blogs and research publications.
• Develop data-driven methodologies to support threat hunting and intelligence.
• Present research findings internally and at conferences and events.
• Develop and refine threat detections based on research outcomes.
• Utilise data visualization to communicate findings.
