Job summary

IBM Consulting UK FutureNow is seeking a Senior Security Consultant for Threat Management to help clients strengthen security operations and detection capabilities across cloud, hybrid, and on‑prem environments. You will design detection content, enhance SIEM/SOAR, and drive measurable security outcomes through threat-informed defence.

You will lead workshops, produce technical deliverables, and mentor junior consultants while engaging with technical and business stakeholders on security

Qualifications

• Design and tune SIEM detection content and analytics rules.
• Threat-informed defence aligned to MITRE ATT&CK.
• Experience supporting or leading incident investigation and response.
• Cloud security monitoring across Azure, AWS or GCP.
• Proficient in security-focused query/scripting languages (KQL, SPL, Python, PowerShell).

Responsibilities

• Designing, implementing, and improving SIEM and security monitoring capabilities.
• Developing and tuning detection content and correlation logic.
• Conducting threat hunting exercises aligned to MITRE ATT&CK and client profiles.
• Supporting incident response, investigation, and post-incident improvements.
• Delivering SOC maturity assessments, capability reviews, and uplift roadmaps.
• Integrating telemetry across cloud, identity, endpoint, network, and apps.
• Designing and improving SOAR playbooks and automated responses.
