Job summary

Marshmallow is seeking a Claims specialist to manage Third Party Property Damage and Credit Hire claims. You’ll triage communications, investigate liability, and keep customers informed with clear, compassionate updates throughout the journey.

You’ll work in a flexible hybrid setup with regular in-person days at our London office, contributing to fair, efficient, and commercially sound outcomes within a dynamic claims team.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience managing Third Party Property Damage (TPPD) and Credit Hire claims.
• Solid grasp of relevant case law and when to apply it.
• Comfortable assessing liability and indemnity and maintaining reserves.

About the team

The Settlement team manages third party damage and credit hire claims and plays a key role in delivering fair, efficient and commercially sound outcomes. We work closely with policyholders, witnesses, third party insurers and wider claims teams to resolve cases quickly and make sharper decisions for customers. Day to day, the team investigates claims, assesses liability and indemnity, and keeps cases moving with clear communication and strong judgement. It’s a team built for people who want more autonomy, more pace and more opportunity to improve how claims work.

What you'll be doing

• Manage a portfolio of Third Party Property Damage (TPPD) and Credit Hire claims, progressing them efficiently in line with our processes

• Triage and manage inbound communications effectively, routing work to support timely claim resolution

• Investigate claims and assess liability and indemnity with policyholders, witnesses and third parties to identify recovery opportunities and make sound decisions

• Keep policyholders informed with clear, empathetic communication throughout their claim journey

• Set and maintain claim reserves and process payments in line with our reserving approach

• Identify intervention opportunities, refer to specialist suppliers, escal... potential fraud or complaints, and support team administration

We offer a flexible hybrid work model, with the team coming together at our London office once every two weeks.

Your expertise

• Hands-on experience managing Credit Hire and Third Party Property Damage (TPPD) claims, including challenging hire periods, rates, and credit hire agreements.

• Solid grasp of relevant case law and when to apply it, and confidence discussing liability and indemnity decisions.

• Comfortable setting and maintaining reserves and processing payments within agreed authority levels, with a track record of sound, independent decision-making.

• Used to managing a varied caseload at pace, prioritising effectively and keeping claimants and third parties informed throughout.

Our process

1. Initial call with a member of our Talent Acquisition team, call, 30 minutes.

2. Interview with two members of the Claims team, 1 hour.
