Job summary

Boyd Corp in Ashington is seeking an engineer to develop innovative thermal and mechanical solutions and manage projects from design to prototype. You will liaise with customers and internal teams, providing engineering support to meet customer and Boyd expectations.

The role involves 3D CAD design, 2D drawings, and potential CFD analysis, with emphasis on timely delivery, quality, and safety. Prior experience in a design/manufacturing environment is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is desirable but not essential.
• Industrial experience in design, development and manufacturing is equally considered.
• Up to 3–4 years engineering experience in a design, development and manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Act as principal contact for customers’ engineers.
• Generate thermal management solutions, potentially with CFD analysis.
• Manage projects, create designs using 3D modelling and 2D drawings; raise material requests and oversee prototype build and test.
• Liaise with Production/Manufacturing Engineering for smooth transition to manufacture.
• Support Sales Department and maintain customer information per procedures.
• Adhere to Health and Safety requirements and 5S housekeeping targets.
• Provide engineering support when other engineers are unavailable.
