A specialist health organization in Liverpool is looking for a full-time Rehabilitation Assistant to join their therapy team. You will deliver pulmonary rehabilitation services to patients, both in hospital and at home, requiring strong IT and communication skills. Candidates should have experience in health or care settings and be able to make clinical decisions. The role includes ongoing training and support, with flexible working options available.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the therapy team within a CQC rated 'outstanding' NHS specialist Trust. The post holder will be based within the Liverpool Pulmonary Rehabilitation Team (The Breathe Programme). The successful post-holder will assist the team to deliver the pulmonary rehabilitation service to patients within hospital and community settings including community venues and patients own homes.
You are expected to use your own car within the community; business insurance is required, and you will be paid travel expenses for your mileage. You will contribute to the assessment and treatment of patients both individually and in groups, undertaking therapeutic work and supervising patients in activity relating to their treatment, and will assist with integrating patients into digital resources as part of their educational rehabilitation – therefore IT skills are essential.
Good communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work well individually and as part of a multi‑disciplinary team in delivering excellent patient‑centred care.
The role is ideally suited to an individual with experience of working in a health or care setting with respiratory experience. The post holder will be working closely with experienced clinicians; however the ability to make clinical decisions is required at this level, so a good understanding of patient‑centred care and problem‑solving skills are essential.

We have strong working partnerships with our multi‑disciplinary colleagues across the Trust and are key in the provision of therapy to both inpatients and across the community. The Care Certificate aims to equip health and social care support workers with the knowledge and skills which they need to provide safe, compassionate care. We expect all new starters in clinical, patient facing posts (bands 1‑4) to complete all 15 standards of the Care Certificate within their first 6 months with the Trust.

If you are a Skilled Worker/ Health and Care visa applicant and you are coming to work in an occupation defined by the relevant Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) code, you will be required to provide a criminal record certificate from any country you have lived in for 12 months or more in the last 10 years, this is also applicable for your adult dependants.
The role is full time 37.5 hours per week usually 08.00am - 16.00pm, and there is a hospital class every Monday with a rota for working 10.30am - 18.30pm approximately once per month. The successful candidate will be required to take part in the Saturday rehab service rota providing rehabilitation to inpatients across the Trust. Competency based training for this will be provided and the requirement is approximately one Saturday in 10 weeks with a day off in lieu and Saturday enhancement.
