A prominent NHS Trust in Greater London is seeking therapy assistants to support frail patients within its acute medicine department. The role entails providing high-quality therapy care under supervision, with essential skills in communication and basic IT. Candidates will benefit from strong clinical leadership, peer support, and tailored training. This position requires good teamwork and documentation abilities, ultimately ensuring the safe discharge and maximal recovery of patients.
If you have relevant qualifications, experience or transferable skills and you are interested in supporting acute hospital therapy team working alongside Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists, then this is the post for you.
You will provide therapy for frail patients with various medical and conditions in the Department of Medicine for Older People (DMOP). You will need good written and verbal communication skills, basic IT and administrative skills.
Successful candidates will join our dynamic DMOP therapy team and be embedded into an existing therapy team with strong clinical leadership, peer group support and training. You will be allocated to work as an Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy or a generic therapy assistant practitioner.
Your development will be supported by joint therapy assessment with therapists, monthly one‑to‑one supervision and yearly appraisal. The therapy team offers an in‑service training programme.
