Main duties of the job

Work as a senior member of the team of Radiographers covering all sections of the department including mould room, CT scanning, virtual simulation and contouring, delivery of a wide range of both simple & complex treatment and IGRT techniques.

Support the team leader in the day‑to‑day management of their assigned pre‑treatment or treatment work area, assisting in the organisation and management of the clinical workload.

Liaising with the multidisciplinary team.

Assist with the day‑to‑day organisation of a treatment unit to ensure an efficient service is delivered and workload targets are achieved.

Supervise, support & teach junior members of staff and students.

Person Specification

• BSc (Hon) in Radiotherapy.
• HCPC registered as Therapeutic Radiographer
• Core knowledge of a range of radiotherapy equipment and techniques
• A general understanding of computerised treatment planning systems.
• Post registration experience of working as a Therapeutic Radiographer with rotations through pre‑treatment and treatment during that period
• Experience and knowledge of all IGRT modalities
• Evidence of post graduate study
• Previous NHS experience
• Previous senior experience
• Experience of advanced techniques e.g., SABR, SRS, DIBH, TBI, Adaptive RT
• Evaluation of CBCT images
• Experience of mentoring/training student radiographers
