Job summary

Compass Community Schools is seeking a Therapeutic Pastoral Lead to embody and model a healing approach within our schools. You will sit in the leadership group, co-managed by SENCOs and the Therapeutic Development Manager, guiding interventions and therapeutic interactions with students.

You will manage calming, de-escalation work, ensure safeguarding is paramount, and contribute to school improvement plans while focusing on SMSC and personal development across the student body.

Qualifications

• Experience in de-escalation and keeping calm in dysregulated situations.
• Trauma-informed approach with practical knowledge of interventions.
• Ability to lead within a school leadership group.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and policy adherence.
• Experience assessing and reporting on student progress.
• Focus on SMSC and personal development of students.

Responsibilities

• Lead pastoral, SMSC, and personal development initiatives for students.
• Assess, monitor, report on holistic progress and wellbeing.
• Ensure safeguarding is paramount and policies are followed.
• Contribute to the annual School Improvement Plan and Ofsted readiness.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SMSC and PD elements within standards.
