Job summary

Brook Street in Northampton is seeking an experienced Children’s Residential Support Worker to provide 1:1, 2:1 or 3:1 support to children with complex needs in a semi-independent residential setting. The role involves safeguarding, trauma-informed care and daily living support, with shifts including 12-hour days and waking nights.

Applicants should have a Level 3 Diploma/NVQ in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) and prior experience in children's residential care.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with complex needs (Autism, ADHD, EBD).
• Knowledge of safeguarding and trauma-informed approaches.
• Strong team collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic, person-centred support.
• Support daily routines, activities and independence for each child.
• Manage behaviours that challenge using trauma-informed approaches.
• Follow care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support plans.
• Administer medication where required.
• Complete accurate records and reports.
• Maintain safeguarding and child welfare standards.
