Job summary

Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dynamic RN/ODP to join the theatre team as Theatre Allocations Lead. This Band 7 role leads workforce deployment across the operating theatre complex, working with the Theatre Matron and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe staffing and high-quality patient care.

You will drive recruitment, staff development and service improvement while maintaining a visible clinical presence and professional standards within the Theatre Department.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or ODP with current NMC/HCPC pin.
• Degree or Diploma in Nursing, Operating Department Practice, or related healthcare discipline.
• Demonstration of CPD.

Responsibilities

• Manage the allocation and deployment of staff across all theatre and perioperative areas.
• Lead workforce planning activities to ensure safe staffing and effective utilisation of resources.
• Lead recruitment and selection processes for Scrub Practitioners and Healthcare Support Workers.
• Provide leadership and line management support to designated staff groups.
• Promote high standards of patient care and professional practice.
• Support operational performance and theatre utilisation and contribute to service improvement, workforce development and quality initiatives.
• Act as a member of the Theatre Leadership Team, contributing to the strategic development of the service.
