Job summary

The Buckinghamshire NHS Trust in Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Aylesbury, is seeking a self-motivated theatre scrub practitioner with substantial Band 5 experience to lead a theatre team in one specialty. You will support care delivery, mentor junior staff, and contribute to planning and improvement within the peri-operative environment.

Applicants must be RN (adult) or ODP with theatre experience; a mentorship qualification or willingness to gain one is desirable.

Qualifications

• RN (adult) or ODP qualification.
• Diploma in related field (or equivalent experience).
• Management and leadership programme completed.
• Teaching and Assessment recognised qualification.
• Recognised advanced communication skills.
• Degree in related field (or willingness to work towards).
• Recognised advanced specialist training in chosen field (or equivalent experience).

Responsibilities

• Lead a theatre team on a day-to-day basis in one speciality.
• Support longer-term planning of care delivery within one speciality.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and ability to work with initiative.
• Be a strong team player and ensure high standards of peri-operative care.
