Job summary

The Royal Veterinary College in Potters Bar is seeking an enthusiastic registered veterinary nurse (RVN) to join our theatre team in the Queen Mother Hospital for Animals. You will work closely with clinicians, anaesthesia team, theatre staff and students to provide high standards of care.

You will circulate, scrub in, manage theatre kit, assist with peri-operative imaging, record keeping and contribute to teaching veterinary students in theatre skills.

Qualifications

• Registered Veterinary Nurse with current credentials.
• Experience in a hospital or referral setting preferred.
• Experience supervising veterinary and nursing students is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Circulating nurse in theatre, supporting surgeons and staff.
• Manage surgical kit requirements and peri-operative imaging.
• Record keeping and scrubbing into surgery as required.
• Teach and assess veterinary students in theatre skills.
• Provide opportunities to advance clinical and teaching skills.
