Responsibilities
- Provide reception duties to the Theatre Department, ensuring courteous and efficient greeting and direction of callers/visitors.
- Provide clerical assistance within the scope of duties and responsibilities.
- Offer a friendly and comprehensive reception service to all staff visiting the department.
- Perform efficient reception duties such as answering phones and receiving people at the reception desk.
- Deal efficiently and courteously with colleagues and visitors in line with departmental standards.
- Visitors may include staff from other areas, company representatives, visiting medical staff and patient relatives (some of whom may be in a state of distress).
- Handle telephone calls and enquiries courteously, relay messages efficiently, and process urgent referrals.
- Assist with general clerical duties, including distributing incoming mail.
- Accurately input data onto relevant databases and collate data for the purpose of clinical audit.
- Liaise with the multi‑disciplinary team to help maintain patient flow through theatre.
- Maintain appropriate access to the clinical area, oversee visitor access, and record entries in the theatre visitor book.
- Sign delivery/collection service requisitions for medical equipment and inform relevant staff accordingly.
The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this post.
