Job summary

Circle Health Group is seeking a Theatre Practitioner - Surgical First Assistant in Huddersfield. The role is 37.5 hours per week and permanent, with a salary up to £42,000 per year dependent on experience, training and qualifications.

The successful candidate will support surgeons during operations, ensure patient safety and positioning, and work with anaesthetists, theatre staff and recovery teams to deliver compassionate, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Registered healthcare professional with post-registration qualification as a Surgical First Assistant.
• Demonstrable perioperative experience with competence in surgical assistance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled assistance to the surgeon during operations and manage tissue handling as trained.
• Support safe patient positioning and promote dignity and safety in the theatre.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated perioperative care.
• Adhere to infection prevention, patient identification and surgical safety protocols.
