Job summary

East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust is recruiting for Registered Practitioner - Theatres to support care across our surgical services. The role involves assisting with patient transfer and positioning for clinical procedures, and contributing to safe theatre preparation.

You will work in a 24/7 service across multiple theatres, including handling sterile equipment, decontamination and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Transfer and position patients for clinical procedures.
• Prepare the theatre for surgery and sterile equipment/supplies; minimise waste.
• Prepare, use, decontaminate, troubleshoot and report faulty complex equipment.
• Work effectively in a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and comfort; be flexible to rotate across theatre areas.
• Work on-call and out-of-hours to provide emergency access for acutely ill patients.
