Anaesthetic Team – Full‑time Band 5 Registered Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC) or Registered Nurse (NMC)

This post requires a UK recognised anaesthetic course/module qualification. It is based at Glan Clwyd Hospital, which has 12 theatres supporting specialisms such as orthopaedics, colorectal, ENT, urology, gynaecology and upper GI.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will join a dedicated, hardworking team and develop skills in both adult and children's peri‑operative journeys. They will also gain experience in maternity care and outlying areas such as MRI, resus and ophthalmic theatres. The post holder will work collaboratively and co‑operatively with other members of the multi‑disciplinary team, meeting the needs of the patient whilst under no direct supervision. They will assist in the management and organisation of clinical and satellite areas, implement improvements to working practices as identified by audit or clinical trials, and participate in the education and development of other staff members and students. The post holder is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of evidence‑based patient care. Clinical expertise is utilised during all phases of the peri‑operative period. Skilled assistance is provided in the surgical care of the patient. These skills can also be employed in other areas of theatre, such as anaesthetics with the recognised qualification, and in other satellite areas such as X‑ray and obstetrics.

UK‑recognised anaesthetic course/module qualification.

Desirable to be able to speak Welsh, though Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
