As a Theatre Practitioner/ODP in Anaesthetic at our hospital, you’ll be alert, focused, detail-oriented and empathetic. You’re registered with the appropriate governing body, and you bring the qualifications and experience relevant to your registration, including NMC or HCPC. With post-registration experience, you’re a team player across departments with a passion for exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Work with leading consultants and like-minded professionals
  • Enjoy a varied caseload with state-of-the-art technology, equipment and facilities
  • Supervise, support and develop junior members of staff
  • Create high-quality care and patient experiences that are clinically effective and evidence based
  • Ensure the safe administration of anaesthetics and monitor vital signs throughout surgical procedures
  • Participate in maintaining a sterile operating environment and adhering to all safety protocols
  • Collaborate closely with anaesthetists and surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and interact closely with colleagues on the ward

Working on the bank means you are not contracted to a set number of hours per week but instead work on an ad‑hoc basis to suit the needs of the business and your availability.

About Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital

The Exeter Nuffield hospital is based next to the RD&E hospital in Wonford, Exeter. The hospital has 2 theatres, as well as a hybrid cardiac catheter laboratory/theatre and an Endoscopy suite. There are two ward areas: an inpatient area with 21 beds and a day‑case ward with 12 beds. We also have a busy outpatient department, pharmacy, physiotherapy, and radiology department including an MRI scanner. We specialise in elective orthopaedic and spinal surgery, cardiology including invasive procedures, general surgery, plastics and cosmetic surgery, ENT, and gynaecology. The Hospital has a MAKO robot that undertakes some of the joint replacement surgery which we have become well known for in this field of surgery.
