Job summary

The Horder Centre in Crowborough is seeking a dedicated Theatre Porter to support our busy operating department. You will assist with patient transport, equipment movement and safety checks to ensure smooth surgical care.

Qualifications

Good standard of education with literacy and numeracy.

Responsibilities

Safely transport patients between wards, recovery areas and operating theatres using beds, trolleys and wheelchairs.
Assist with transfer and positioning of patients within the theatre suite.
Carry out safety checks prior to collecting patients and ensure correct patient transfer according to schedules.
Liaise with ward/recovery teams to ensure beds and trolleys are available.
Prepare theatre suites and equipment before and after procedures.
Support movement of equipment and supplies throughout the department.
Monitor stock levels and receive/distribute deliveries and prostheses.
Handle department phone and crash bleep during shifts.
