Circle Health Group’s The Droitwich Spa Hospital is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to join the operating theatre team. This full-time role covers 37.5 hours per week with a flexible shift pattern, offering a permanent position within a leading private healthcare network.

You will assist patients with personal care, support eating and mobility, record vital signs after training, and work with nurses and doctors to ensure safe, compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Experience in care or health support roles.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and escalate appropriately.
• Basic literacy, numeracy and IT skills.
• Physically able to perform moving and handling tasks.
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) desirable.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control and confidentiality procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care and mobility needs, respecting dignity.
• Help patients with eating, drinking and nutritional support, including documenting intake where appropriate.
• Provide comfort and emotional support to patients and relatives, creating a caring and safe environment.
• Record routine observations such as blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature, oxygen saturation and blood glucose levels (after training).
• Support basic clinical procedures, including wound care setup, catheter care, pressure area prevention and mobility aids.
• Prepare and maintain clinical areas, including trolleys, beds and equipment for patient use.
• Work with nurses, doctors, therapists and admin teams to support safe and efficient patient care.
