Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a permanent, full-time Healthcare Assistant (Theatres) at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Peter Smith Surgery Centre. You will aid nursing staff during operations, help maintain a sterile theatre, and support the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.

Applicants should have hospital care experience, good communication skills, and an NVQ Level 2 in healthcare or be working towards it.

Qualifications

• Experience in a hospital or direct care environment is essential.
• Good communication skills, written and spoken, including with people whose first language isn't English.
• NVQ Level 2 in healthcare or willingness to work towards it.

Responsabilités

• Assisting nursing staff in caring for patients during their operations.
• Supporting the surgical team in keeping a sterile field and supplying equipment.
• Maintaining the theatre, its sterile environment and equipment for patient safety.
• Carrying out personal care duties for hospital patients.
• Supporting the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, high‑quality care.
• Communicating with patients, relatives and carers in a reassuring way.
