Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a Test Engineer to support design, development and manufacture of electronic products.

You will work within a multidisciplinary engineering team and contribute to test-system development, product verification, software development and data analysis. The role is suitable for graduates and engineers with relevant experience; training will be provided and all experience levels are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical, Electronic or related engineering discipline.
  • Interest in electronics, test engineering and product development.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Structured and organised approach to work.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement test strategies for product verification.
  • Translate product and customer requirements into test specifications.
  • Design, build and maintain automated test systems, including hardware and software.
  • Develop and support test applications using Visual Basic, Visual C# and National Instruments equipment.
  • Support product verification and validation activities.
  • Analyse test data and communicate results to engineering teams.
  • Investigate technical issues using structured problem-solving methods.
  • Identify and implement improvements to test processes and product performance.
  • Contribute to design reviews, technical discussions and project activities.

Job description

As a Test Engineer, you will support the design, development and manufacture of electronic products and modules. Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will contribute to test-system development, product verification, software development and data analysis.

Desirable
  • Experience with Visual Basic, Visual C# or another programming language.
  • Knowledge of embedded C or microcontroller development.
  • Understanding of UART, SPI or I²C communication protocols.
  • Experience with LabVIEW, TestStand or National Instruments equipment.
  • Knowledge of circuit design or PCB layout tools such as Altium.
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing, product testing or validation.
