Job summary

A leading consultancy firm is seeking a Test Engineer to support a major government transformation project. The role involves contributing to the testing of crucial applications, documenting outcomes, and collaborating with analysts. Candidates must have at least 5 years of UK residency and hands-on experience with Performance Testing, Cucumber, and Java. Qualifications

Responsibilities

Contribute to a national transformation programme by supporting the testing of a large government application.
Collaborate with business analysts to understand and validate user and system requirements.

ROLE TITLE: Test Engineer

LOCATION: Leicester, London or Manchester

The ideal candidate will have active SC Clearance or be eligible to undergo SC Clearance.

Job Purpose/The Role:

This role forms part of a government organisations flagship customs transformation programme, joining an experienced delivery team focused on supporting and enhancing IBM's testing of the UK's central Customs application.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Contribute to a high‑profile national transformation programme by supporting the testing of a large‑scale, central government application.
Collaborate with business analysts to understand and validate user and system requirements.
Develop clear and comprehensive test scenarios based on functional and non‑functional requirements.
Execute test cases to assess system functionality, accuracy, performance, and reliability.
Document test outcomes, identify defects, and track issues through to resolution.
Work closely with the wider delivery team to enhance testing processes and support continuous improvement activities.
Help ensure the quality and robustness of a mission‑critical system used across core national services.
