Yolk Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Test Engineer in Cardiff (hybrid) with a salary of £39,221. The role focuses on test design, delivery, and ensuring quality across platforms.

Eligibility for SC Clearance is required and you will work within a collaborative, Agile environment to support UAT and releases. Key responsibilities include developing and executing manual and automated tests using Playwright/Cypress/Selenium, integrating with CI/CD (Azure DevOps/Jenkins), and maintaining testing

Qualifications

• Experience in designing and executing manual, automated and exploratory tests.
• Ability to log, track and retest defects through to resolution.
• Experience with regression, integration and non-functional testing (performance, security, accessibility, compatibility).

Test Engineer

Test Design & Delivery

• Analyse requirements and work with analysts and developers to define effective test scenarios.
• Design and execute manual, automated and exploratory tests aligned to business and technical goals.
• Log, track and retest defects through to resolution.
• Perform regression, integration and non-functional testing (e.g. performance, security, accessibility, compatibility).
• Ensure consistent service quality across devices, browsers and operating systems.
• Apply risk-based testing to prioritise coverage and maximise value.
• Maintain clear test documentation and support UAT and release readiness activities.

Automation & CI/CD

• Develop and maintain automated tests using tools such as Playwright, Cypress or Selenium.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Azure DevOps, Jenkins) for early feedback.
• Use Git-based version control and support BDD/TDD practices where appropriate.
• Continuously improve automation frameworks and testing processes to increase efficiency and reliability.

Collaboration & Quality Assurance

• Provide regular test status updates, highlighting progress, risks and defects.
• Work closely with developers, analysts and stakeholders to ensure shared understanding of requirements and quality expectations.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and support iterative delivery.
• Collaborate with third-party suppliers to align testing approaches and uphold quality standards.
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of test strategy and ways of working.
