Overview

Test Development Engineer - 4 days pw on site. Copello are working with a defence client who are seeking a motivated and skilled Test Development Engineer with experience in RF. This role offers the opportunity to develop new test solutions for new product introduction and existing products, to include designing, developing, implementing, and optimising manufacturing processes across the business.

Responsibilities
New Product Development
  • Provide test support for new product introductions, including validation during early-stage builds and pilot production runs.
  • Develop and standardise scalable RF test strategies for automated manufacturing.
  • Support virtual builds and prototype development to enable early identification of potential testing and manufacturing challenges.
  • Plan and manage build requirements, liaising with cross-functional teams to validate processes and ensure product readiness.
  • Facilitate a seamless transition from development to production by aligning stakeholders and resolving test-related issues.
  • Design and implement automated RF test solutions using Automated Test Equipment (ATE).
  • Collaborate with design teams to interpret product specifications and translate them into test requirements.
  • Develop and carry out production test plans to verify product functionality, performance, and compliance.
  • Conduct thorough testing of components and systems to ensure conformity with manufacturing requirements.
Manufacturing Test Optimisation
  • Deliver technical support to resolve test issues during initial production runs.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process optimisation, cost reduction, and driving continuous improvement in test coverage, cycle time, and reliability.
  • Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive production documentation relevant to testing.
Qualifications and experience
  • Degree qualified in an Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing ATE solutions.
  • Strong understanding of electronic circuits and components (RF biased).
  • Familiarity with RF measurement equipment and techniques with experience with RF test equipment such as VNA, signal generators, and spectrum analysers.
  • Ideally proficient in Python, NI LabVIEW or TestStand.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, supporting root cause analysis.
  • Experience with test data analysis and troubleshooting.

Please note SC Clearance must be obtainable for this role.
