A leading precision measurement company in the United Kingdom is seeking a Metrology Engineer / Calibration Specialist to develop and perform advanced calibration methods. You will work under the direction of a Senior Metrologist, focusing on ensuring measurement accuracy for high-level calibration products. The ideal candidate has a background in Electrical Engineering or Physics and at least 3 years of experience in a calibration environment.
Support and develop calibration methods and techniques for precision measurement instruments.
Perform technical analysis of measurement problems and determine accuracy requirements for calibration standards.
Develop uncertainty analyses for accredited calibrations in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025.
Implement and maintain control charting and statistical process control techniques.
Design and develop automated test and measurement systems.
Maintain documentation and analyses to ensure compliance with the laboratory ISO/IEC 17025 quality system.
Drive continuous improvement of calibration processes and systems.
Contribute to the development of metrology quality system policies and procedures.
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Physics preferred, or equivalent technical training in calibration/metrology.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of experience in a metrology or calibration environment, preferably within an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in MET/CAL, C#, VB, Java, and/or Python for data analysis and process automation.
Soft Skills:
Strong customer focus and interpersonal skills.
Excellent teamwork, flexibility, and problem-solving abilities.
Self-motivated with strong time management and independent working skills.
