Overview

The Preventative Risking (PR) team within RIS is responsible for managing the risking and compliance referral processes for Self-Assessment (SA) registrations. The system identifies approximately 200,000 fraudulent registrations out of 1 million, with an estimated £51 million to £219 million in losses addressed by a proof of concept (POC).

The POC leveraged data from 20 sources (most housed in the Minerva Oracle database). The automated file transfers described in the Solution Design Document (SDD) will move data to the SAS platform using approved Enterprise Architecture (EA) integration patterns, with an initial delivery targeted for April 2026.

This role will be part of a new scrum team within the Minerva Platform to develop and deliver Ingestion and Risking within the SAS Platform including IDP.

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Test Automation Specialist to join our core build delivery team. The role will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks and pipelines to support the deployment and validation of analytics solutions on the SAS Viy-a 4 platform. Working as part of an Agile team, participate in ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, retrospectives, demos and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Utilise strong stakeholder management and communication skills to collaborate with developers, DevOps engineers, and Business Analysts to ensure test coverage aligns with business requirements and technical specifications.
• Ensure that appropriate automation tooling is implemented and utilised to meet business and technical needs.
• Design and implement automation test strategies and plans for SAS Viy-a 4 applications, including UI based Visual Analytics (VA) and Intelligent Decisioning (ID), as well as integration testing of data pipelines.
• Develop and maintain test scripts using appropriate automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, PyTest, JUnit) and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
• Confirm the test data strategy to be used.
• Maintain and evolve the test automation suite to support regression, performance, and integration testing.
• Support the integration of test automation into Git-based CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in test environments, including SAS Viy-a containerized deployments (e.g., OpenShift, Kubernetes).
• Contribute to test data management and environment provisioning strategies.
• Ensure that appropriate defect management is undertaken.
• Ensure results and progress are clearly articulated to relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a valid SC Clearance.
• Proven experience in: working in a collaborative agile environment; test automation for data and analytics platforms, ideally including SAS Viy-a 4; assuring the appropriate tool selection for both business and technical needs; setting the strategy and approach for both UI and system integration based automation; knowledge of REST APIs and testing API endpoints; scripting skills in Python, Shell, or similar languages and associated frameworks; experience with CI/CD tools and version control systems (e.g., Git, Jenkins, GitLab); data management and profiling; setting test direction for the automation team; strong communication and stakeholder management skills; strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Experience

• Familiarity with SAS Viy-a architecture and components (VA, ID, CAS, etc.).
• Understanding of containerized environments and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
