Job summary

A leading testing consultancy is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to work primarily remote with occasional office visits. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in creating automation frameworks using Playwright, API automation, and CI tools like MS Azure and Jenkins. This role offers a competitive salary of up to £50,000 annually on a 6-month fixed-term contract, with a chance for extension or permanent employment.

Location : Primarily remote with c1 day per month in the consultancy office in Berkshire & client visits when requested

Salary : £45-50,000 / annum + benefits

Start Date : We require someone to start immediately

Saffron QA is the recruitment partner to a successful and expanding software testing consultancy. The organisation has a reputation for providing high calibre software testing services within the financial services sector.

We are in the market for a Test Automation Engineer with previous experience of designing and developing test automation frameworks in Playwright using either Typescript or JavaScript. We also require someone with good API automation experience and we are open to various tools and programming languages.

The ideal candidate will be keen to progress their career in a consulting environment, where they can contribute to multiple projects, using a range of tools and technologies. You will be responsible for supporting the consultancy on test automation proof of concepts as well as presenting and demoing solutions to clients.

We are looking for a candidate with the following experience;

  • Proven experience and ability to create test automation frameworks from scratch using Playwright and JavaScript or Typescript.
  • Experience of designing API automation solutions
  • Develop CI Test Pipeline on the creation, maintenance, and improvement of CI tools such as MS Azure, Jenkins, GitHub Actions.
  • Experience working with version control tools like GIT, GIT hub, Bitbucket and Azure Repos.
  • Establish and uphold coding standards for automation tools and processes.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of the Quality Engineering process, including the implementation of best practices and automation strategies.
  • Create and maintain code and documentation for project work.
  • Provide regular status updates and reports on testing progress to the Test Manager and stakeholders.
  • Must hold British passport or ILR due to background checking process. No Visa sponsorship available.

This position is being offered on a 6-month fixed-term contract basis (possible extension or permanent employment options) and offers a salary of up to £50,000 / annum. This is an immediate opening and require someone to start asap.
