Job description

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Test Analyst in United Kingdom.

In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of complex software products used in critical operational environments. You will contribute to the full testing lifecycle, from planning and designing test scenarios to executing scripts, reporting defects, and validating fixes.

Working within a dedicated test assurance team, you will support multiple applications and environments, collaborate with technical and operational stakeholders, and help maintain high standards across every phase of delivery. The position offers a dynamic mix of hands‑on testing, process improvement, and cross‑team coordination, with opportunities to travel to customer sites for on‑site test activities.

Accountabilities
  • Support test leads and the test assurance manager in planning, scripting, executing, and reporting on all testing activities across new features, software upgrades, and defect fixes.
  • Analyse requirements and translate them into test scenarios, cases, and detailed test specifications, ensuring full traceability through the RVTM.
  • Review existing test scripts to validate alignment with functional requirements and update them where needed.
  • Conduct functional, regression, and defect retesting, documenting technical evidence and maintaining clear records of outcomes.
  • Work across multiple environments to ensure quality and stability, including participation in off‑site testing with customer stakeholders.
  • Prepare test plans, manage test documentation, and contribute to continuous process improvements, including advocating for automation and new testing techniques.
  • Provide knowledge‑transfer materials to ensure team alignment on new software, processes, and standards.
Requirements
  • Experienced software tester with strong knowledge of the full testing lifecycle, ideally with 5+ years of commercial experience.
  • Background in customer‑focused IT environments, with the ability to support diverse stakeholders and communicate findings clearly.
  • Strong understanding of functional and non‑functional testing methods, tools, and best practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to manage workload independently.
  • Self‑motivated, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement and quality.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and support both manual and automated testing activities.
  • Higher or relevant educational qualification, ISEB/ISTQB certification desirable, as well as familiarity with automation tools or scripting.
  • Must have lived in the UK for at least 5 consecutive years due to security clearance requirements.
Benefits
  • 25 days paid holiday with options to buy or sell additional days.
  • Life assurance coverage at 4x basic salary, with options to increase.
  • Group pension plan.
  • Flexible benefits package tailored to individual needs.
  • Supportive, inclusive working environment with reasonable adjustments when needed.
  • Opportunity to work on meaningful public service solutions with nationwide impact.
