As part of an exciting and ambitious digital transformation, the University of Surrey is seeking a Test Analyst to play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of the university’s IT systems, data integrations and applications.

This role is initially offered on a Fixed-Term basis until November 2027.

Role & Responsibilities

This position involves designing, executing, and maintaining test plans and scripts to identify and resolve software and integration defects, involving manual and automated processes. The IT Test Analyst will work closely with developers, project managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality IT solutions that support the university's academic and administrative functions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for new and existing software applications, integrations, cloud migrations, upgrades and other IT solutions.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects and issues, ensuring they are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, stakeholders and project managers to understand requirements and provide feedback on testability and quality risks.
  • Perform various types of testing, including (but not limited to) functional, non-functional, regression, integration, and migration testing.
  • Develop, update and maintain test harness of automated test scripts to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of testing processes, methodologies and assist in the preparation and maintenance of test environments and test data.
