Availability Window: Days and times when shifts are preferred: Sun 14:00–22:00, Mon 05:30–14:00, Tue 14:00–22:00, Fri 16:00–20:00, Sat 14:00–22:00. The table shows the periods of time in the week we’d like you to be available to work. We will schedule your contracted hours within these times and provide 3 weeks’ notice of shifts. We are open to flexibility if your availability is close to the advertised times.

Pay: Our Shift Leader rate starts from £14.76 an hour; this increases to £15.97 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location.

Hours: It is Tesco policy to offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week. If you would like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12), we have opportunities for this too.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the store team to deliver a smooth, customer-focused shopping experience
  • Support colleagues to deliver daily priorities and ensure breaks are taken
  • Open and close the store, manage duty cover, and make safety-based decisions
  • Be the go-to person for colleagues when the manager is absent
  • Keep the store clean, tidy, and well-presented
  • Support managers with seasonal, community and charity events
  • Contribute to a positive team atmosphere and inclusive culture
  • Provide excellent customer service by listening to customers and addressing needs
  • Keep colleagues informed about communications, changes, or updates
  • Monitor store performance and assist with actions to improve operations
  • Lead from the front and set a strong example for the team
