Job summary

Pay and Hours

Our Shift Leader rate of pay starts from £14.76 an hour; this increases to £15.97 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.

We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, with flexible options down to 12 hours.

Responsibilities
  • Work in a fast‑paced retail environment.
  • Take ownership of running duty shifts, coordinating the team to deliver a clean, well‑stocked store that exceeds customer expectations.
  • Be there for customers, listening and helping them leave satisfied.
  • Look for ways to improve service, coaching colleagues and giving feedback.
  • Guide and support colleagues in‑store, ensuring a safe place to work and shop.
  • Maintain a great understanding of store performance and assist managers in delivering actions that improve operations.
  • Lead from the front, setting a great example for colleagues in everything you do.
  • Coordinating the store team to deliver an easy, fuss‑free shopping experience.
  • Supporting your colleagues, ensuring they deliver daily priorities and take regular breaks.
  • Opening and closing the store, completing duty cover and making decisions that keep everyone safe.
  • Being the go‑to person for colleagues in the absence of a manager for day‑to‑day queries.
  • Keeping the team well‑informed and up to speed on communications, changes or updates.
  • Following health and safety routines and procedures, ensuring colleagues do the same.
