Job summary

Tesco is looking for a Skilled Baker to join our in-store team. You will provide friendly, natural service to customers and help create a warm, welcoming bakery experience while maintaining a strong focus on freshness and quality.

Responsibilities include preparing and baking products to high standards, managing stock, assisting customers, and supporting the Bakery and wider store teams. Applicants must be over 18 and able to work flexible hours, with a minimum of 16 hours per week.

Tesco Skilled Baker pay starts at 14.21 per hour, rising to 15.48 in stores within the M25. Some locations may offer additional payments. We guarantee a minimum of 16 hours per week, though roles from 12 hours are also available.

Your contracted hours will be scheduled within the availability windows shown, with at least 3 weeks notice of your shifts. If your availability is close to what were looking for, we still encourage you to apply.

Understanding how your role supports great service, strong sales, waste reduction, and overall store performance by producing high‑quality products and keeping the bakery running smoothly.

The ability to build rapport quickly so customers leave feeling confident, supported, and delighted with their bakery experience.
