Territory Manager – Southern CA, AZ, HI

Location: Remote - Seeking candidates located in San Diego, CA. Estimated Salary Range: $81,000-$91,000 + up to $40,000 in annual commissions.

Job Overview

Peak Scientific Instruments, a growing company specializing in laboratory gas generators for the life science and biomedical market, is recruiting a Territory Manager to oversee our Southern CA Territory and be part of our North America Sales team.

Reporting to the Senior Territory Manager, this role will ideally be located in San Diego, CA and involve travel throughout Southern California, Arizona, and Hawaii. Travel may also include other parts of the USA and occasional visits to the Peak head office in Scotland, UK as business needs arise.

Responsibilities
  • Managing a territory of prospects and customers across pharma, biotech, government and academia markets.
  • Following up on leads and cold‑calling to establish new prospects, managing a pipeline and delivering proposals that clearly illustrate Peak Scientific’s value proposition.
  • Selling consultatively, detailing products, determining customer needs and requirements, and recommending laboratory solutions.
  • Representing Peak Scientific at trade shows and building strong relationships with chromatography and mass spectrometry manufacturers.
  • Working with the North America Sales Manager to develop a territory business plan to achieve the annual quote and meet strategic initiatives.
  • Inputting and updating customer information and sales opportunities in the SAP CRM daily.
  • Building and sustaining customer relationships, ensuring satisfaction and long‑term loyalty.
Qualifications
  • College degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 5‑10 years sales experience, preferably selling capital equipment to laboratory markets.
  • Excellent communication and team interaction skills.
  • Ability to carry a business conversation with scientists, laboratory managers and decision makers.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time successfully.
  • Excellent analytical skills and strategic selling ability.
  • Understanding of individual customer requirements.
  • Willingness to travel to customer locations within the territory with overnight travel as needed.
  • Daily CRM updates.
  • Strong IT skills (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM).
