The Territory Manager will be responsible for driving new business and managing existing client accounts across the Northern UK. This position requires a strong hunter mentality combined with proven account management skills, delivering full 360° sales responsibility within a defined territory.
The successful candidate will represent the company's product portfolio, conducting engaging demonstrations, building relationships with key decision-makers, and expanding market share through a consultative, solution-based sales approach.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Territory Growth
- Map and analyse the territory to identify opportunities for new business.
- Proactively research and approach target customers across key industries.
- Generate leads, secure appointments, and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.
- Deliver persuasive product presentations and demonstrations to diverse audiences.
Sales Ownership & CRM
- Manage the full sales cycle — from prospecting and lead generation through to negotiation and close.
- Maintain accurate records and forecasts within the CRM system, ensuring visibility of pipeline activity.
- Produce regular reports on sales performance, pipeline progression, and key focus areas.
Account Management & Retention
- Build and sustain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure retention and maximise account value.
- Provide excellent post-sale support and maintain a focus on long-term customer satisfaction.
- Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities within the existing client base.
Market Engagement & Knowledge
- Attend industry events, exhibitions, and conferences to represent the company and stay informed on market trends.
- Develop a solid understanding of the company's product portfolio and competitor landscape. Share feedback and insights to support marketing campaigns and strategic initiatives.
Candidate Profile
Essential Experience & Skills
- Proven field sales experience within a technical, engineering, or product-led industry.
- Demonstrable track record in new business development and territory expansion.
- Strong account management background with measurable success in client growth and retention.
- Confident communicator, skilled in presenting and demonstrating products to individuals and groups.
- Commercially astute with the ability to balance business development and customer service priorities.
- Excellent organisational and reporting skills, with experience managing CRM systems.
- Willingness to travel extensively across the region (3-4 days per week on the road).
Desirable
- Previous experience in a technical, industrial, or engineering sales environment. Exposure to product launches or supporting marketing campaigns.
