Job summary

Gretton Primary Academy is seeking a kind, patient Mid-day Assistant to supervise children in the dining hall and on the playground, encourage good manners and independence, and support lunchtime activities.

The role is Monday to Friday during term time and school hours, 5 hours per week over 39 weeks, with training days. You will work closely with the mid-day and wider school team to keep everyone safe and engaged.

Responsibilities

• Supervising children in the dining hall and playground
• Encouraging positive behaviour, good manners and independence
• Helping children during lunchtime when needed
• Encouraging children to take part in positive and enjoyable play activities
• Supporting the safe and orderly movement of children around school
• Dealing with minor incidents and reporting any concerns appropriately
• Working closely with other members of the midday and school team
