Job summary

St Joseph & St Bede RC Primary School in Bury is seeking an Assistant Cook to join the catering team. The role supports delivering high-quality meals in a safe, clean and welcoming environment during term time, with fixed hours of 23.75 per week.

The successful candidate will assist with food prep, portioned meals, setting up dining areas and supporting deliveries in a busy school kitchen. This position begins ASAP and offers a permanent contract with a 14,119 £ pro rata annual salary.

Responsibilities

• Assist in basic food and beverage preparation and assembling meals in accordance with menus.
• Serve meals ensuring appropriate portion sizes and a positive dining experience.
• Set up serveries, counters, and dining areas.
• General kitchen and dining room duties (washing up, setting up and clearing away equipment and tables).
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
