Job summary

Holroyd Howe is recruiting a Catering Assistant for Bablake School in Coventry. The role covers daily food service across term-time, Monday to Friday 9:30am–2:45pm.

You will assist with meal preparation, service, and maintaining high hygiene standards, ensuring pupils and staff receive high-quality meals with care. DBS checks and right to work in the UK required. This is an excellent entry point into a professional catering team with training and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in contract or high-volume catering is desirable.
• Good health & safety knowledge.
• Flexible, customer-focused and enthusiastic attitude.
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
• Team player with great customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation, service, and presentation of food to a high standard.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across kitchen and service areas.
• Assist with food labelling, temperature checks, and allergen controls.
• Provide excellent customer service to pupils, staff and visitors.
• Set up and clear service areas for smooth day-to-day operations.
• Follow all food safety, health & safety, and safeguarding procedures.
• Contribute to hospitality events and occasional out-of-hours functions.
• Ensure strict allergen controls are followed.
