Job summary

PK Education Limited is seeking a reliable School Kitchen Assistant to support a busy school catering team during term time. You will help prepare and serve meals, keep the kitchen clean, and ensure lunchtime runs smoothly for pupils and staff.

No prior school experience is required; experience in catering, hospitality or food service is welcome, along with a Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate as an advantage.

Qualifications

• Reliable and punctual with a positive attitude.
• Able to follow instructions and work well in a team.
• Experience in catering or food service is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Help with basic food preparation and getting meals ready for service.
• Serve meals to pupils and staff during lunchtime.
• Prepare counters, serving areas and dining spaces.
• Wash dishes, trays, utensils and kitchen equipment.
• Keep kitchen surfaces and food prep areas clean and hygienic.
• Receive and store food deliveries correctly.
• Support stock rotation and general kitchen organisation.
• Work with cooks and other catering staff during busy services.
• Follow food hygiene, health and safety, and safeguarding procedures.
