Job summary

Halton Borough Council is recruiting a Term Time Only Driver/Passenger Assistant to join the Passenger Transport Team. You will transport SEN children and vulnerable adults between homes and educational or care settings within and outside the borough, ensuring safety and care at all times.

With a Full UK driving licence (D1), you’ll work 20 hours per week across term times, enjoying a range of benefits including LGPS pension, life cover, generous holiday, and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence category D1 is required.
• Experience of working with children and vulnerable adults is desirable.
• Clear DBS/responsibility may be required.

Responsibilities

• Move equipment and assist passengers with wheelchair handling when needed.
• Work as part of a compliant, compassionate passenger transport team.

Our Team:

Client Transport have a fleet of assessable vehicles and cars that are required to transport SEN Children and Vulnerable Adults to various location within and outside the Authority boundaries. The operating centre is Lower House Lane Widnes, Transport Co-ordination staff have severaldriver/attendants that are required on a daily basis to run the service.

We are currently recruiting for a Term Time Only Driver/Assistant to join our dedicated Passenger Transport Team.

This rewarding role involves the safe and caring transportation of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and vulnerable adults between their homes and a variety of educational establishments and care settings, both within and outside the borough.

Physical requirements

The successful applicant will be required to move equipment, safely manoeuvre wheelchairs, and provide appropriate physical assistance to passengers when necessary.

We are looking for individuals who are compassionate, and professional, and who can contribute positively to our well-established and highly respected transport service .

Hours: 20 per week, Split-shifts: Monday to Friday Mornings & Afternoons (Term Time Only)

Each shift may have an operational difference, that may require a slight variation in length, dependent upon the daily client requirement .
