Job summary

Orchard Hill College is recruiting a Lunchtime Assistant to support students during lunch period at Park View Centre, Uxbridge. The role is part-time, 8 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 11.30am to 1.30pm, term time only. You will supervise and assist students, ensuring safe personal care and smooth lunchtime activities.

The college is an Outstanding Specialist College (Ofsted, April 2025) and offers a range of benefits, training and development opportunities in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

  • Some experience of working, caring or voluntary work with people who have disabilities.
  • Able to communicate effectively with students and staff.
  • Able to supervise individual and small groups of students, coping with emergencies.
  • Able to organize and supervise simple activities for groups of students.
  • Able to assist students with personal/intimate care sensitively and safely.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting/assisting students when eating their lunch.
  • Supervising/assisting students washing hands before and after lunch.
  • Assisting students with personal/intimate care as appropriate.
  • Assisting students in participating in lunch clubs/activities.
  • Working in close co-operation with other college staff, being part of the College team.
