Job summary

The Grove Junior School is hiring a Catering Assistant in partnership with Hertfordshire Catering Ltd (HCL). The role involves assisting with meals for children and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety in a school kitchen.

It is a term-time-only position at 18.75 hours per week, with uniform provided. This role offers progression opportunities and DBS support funded by HCL.

Qualifications

• Safeguarding of children and young people is a priority.
• Basic health and safety procedures understood.
• Knowledge of allergens is preferred.
• Ability to work as part of a team and deliver service to children.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, cooking and serve meals to children
• Adhere to Health & Safety regulations
• Receive, check, and organise supplier deliveries
• Carry out washing-up duties, keep kitchen and dining area clean
• Represent HCL and reflect our values in all actions
