Job summary

Principal Education is recruiting a Behaviour Mentor for an alternative provision in St John's Wood. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, term time only, with pay ranging from £110 to £130 per day depending on experience.

You will support young people with SEMH needs 1:1 and in small groups, using calm de-escalation strategies and following targets set with the team. The role leads toward a long-term permanent position.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people with SEMH or challenging behaviour.
• Calm, patient and able to set firm boundaries and build trust.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
• Team Teach, PRICE or similar training is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Support young people 1:1 and in small groups.
• Follow behaviour plans and EHCP targets with the team.
• Help reintegrate learners into learning and, where possible, mainstream school.
• Contribute to safeguarding and de-escalation to keep everyone safe.
