Job summary

Swansea University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Semiconductor Physics and Terahertz Science and Technology. You will join the Centre for Integrative Semiconductor Materials (CISM) and contribute to TERACOM, a multi-university EPSRC programme.

The role involves simulating, designing and fabricating terahertz devices, with exacting measurements and inter-site collaboration across Swansea, Leeds and UCL.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant field is required or already submitted.
• Experience in semiconductor science and terahertz research is essential.

Responsibilities

• Simulate, design and develop terahertz devices based on novel physical phenomena.
• Fabricate samples in the CISM cleanroom (FET-type terahertz devices using GaN).
• Characterise devices on existing setups and expand/build new experimental systems for terahertz measurements.
• Present results at project meetings and publish in international journals.
