Tenancy Sustainment Officer

Location: Ashfield District Council, Urban Road, Kirkby, Nottingham, NG178DA

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Duration: 6+ Months

Working Hours: Mon - Fri, 09:00 - 17:00, 37 Hours per week

Pay Rate: £16.62 Per Hour

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide support and advice to tenants to help them maintain their homes and prevent homelessness.
  • Identify tenant needs and create support plans to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Build trust with tenants and help them make necessary lifestyle changes.
  • Inform tenants about their rights and responsibilities and assist with repairs when needed.
  • Help tenants complete forms and access grants, acting as their advocate.
  • Refer tenants to specialized support and financial advice when necessary.
  • Manage and prioritize your own caseload effectively.
  • Handle inquiries and provide housing advice and administrative support.
  • Maintain detailed records and write reports as needed.
  • Support colleagues and promote the service within the Council.
  • Develop relationships with partner organizations and attend relevant meetings.
Person Specifications
Must Have
  • Experience in social housing or a related field.
  • Experience working with vulnerable groups.
  • Knowledge of landlord and tenant legal processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Organizational skills to manage workload.
  • Ability to drive and pass DVLA checks.
  • Willingness to undergo a DBS check.
Nice to Have
  • Experience in advocacy or tenant support roles.
  • Familiarity with local support services and agencies.
