Job summary

Adecco are recruiting a Tenancy Relations Officer on behalf of a public sector housing service in South London. The role is hybrid (2-3 days on-site, remainder remote) and pays £22.41 PAYE or £29.72 Umbrella per hour for a 3-month temp contract.

The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of landlord/tenant law, homelessness prevention, and enforcement within the private rented sector. You will protect tenants from unlawful eviction and harassment while supporting residents to sustain

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of housing legislation including landlord and tenant law and homelessness legislation.
  • Experience investigating tenancy-related complaints and managing complex casework.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and customer service skills.
  • Ability to gather and assess evidence and make sound decisions.
  • Experience working with vulnerable residents and managing sensitive situations.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to handle a demanding workload independently.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate complaints of illegal eviction, harassment, unlawful landlord practices, and tenancy-related disputes.
  • Provide advice and guidance to tenants, landlords, agents, and partner organisations.
  • Manage a varied caseload, carrying out investigations and gathering evidence where necessary.
  • Conduct home visits and attend court proceedings as a witness when required.
  • Work closely with internal teams and external agencies including landlords, solicitors, police, and housing partners.
  • Support homelessness prevention by helping residents remain in or regain access to accommodation.
  • Produce reports, correspondence, case records, and legal documentation to a high standard.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant housing legislation and best practice.

Adecco are currently recruiting for a Tenancy Relations Officer on behalf of a public sector housing service in South London.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced housing professional with a strong understanding of landlord and tenant legislation, homelessness prevention, and enforcement within the private rented sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in protecting tenants from unlawful eviction and harassment while supporting residents to sustain their housing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate complaints of illegal eviction, harassment, unlawful landlord practices, and tenancy-related disputes.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a demanding workload independently.
