Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Temporary Works Coordinator to join the Devonport Royal Dockyard team in Plymouth. The role focuses on coordinating temporary works across major projects, working with site teams, designers and external consultants.

A strong background in heavy civils and nuclear sector work is preferred, with experience in design coordination and site inspections. Security clearance requirements (BPSS/SC/Security Vetting) apply, and eligibility may depend on residency and citizenship

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Temporary Works Coordinator on heavy civils or construction projects, preferably with nuclear sector experience.
• Experience overseeing reinforced concrete, formwork and falsework Temporary Works schemes.
• Strong knowledge of Temporary Works Management procedures.
• Degree qualification in civil engineering or equivalent (BSc, BA, BEng, MEng, Eng Tech, MICE, TIStructE).
• Awareness of commercial processes and experience in design or engineering management.

Responsibilities

• Co-ordinating Temporary Works between site teams and designers, managing design briefs and submissions through to client approval.
• Managing Temporary Works through the full design preparation and checking processes in accordance with procedures and client requirements.
• Liaising with in-house, supply chain and external design consultants to ensure implementation on site matches approved designs.
• Conducting site inspections and issuing TW Permits whilst managing and coordinating Temporary Works Supervisors.
• Providing practical support and mentoring to less experienced members of the temporary works team.
