Job summary

Essex County Council in Chelmsford is seeking a Temporary Vocational Trainer - Digital to deliver short courses across our ACL programme. The contract runs 8–12 weeks, part-time, with a fixed-base working pattern and a pay rate of £16.30 per hour, enhanced at £26.08 per hour for PPA time.

Starting as soon as week of 2 November, with a closing date 22 October 2026. Mobility to operate across the area is required; a driving licence or alternative arrangements may be needed.

• Game Design using Unity (Wed evening; ACL Chelmsford; session time 3 hrs)
• Introduction to Programming (l1) (Tue evening; ACL Colchester; session time 3 hrs)
• Digital and Social Media Marketing (unit of digital marketing) (Tue afternoon; ACL Colchester; session time 3 hrs)
• Data management and analytics (Excel focus; intro to Power BI) (Tue evening online; session time 3 hrs)

ACL are seeking two trainers to support and deliver the following courses:

• Introduction to social media for business (short 4 week course tues afternoon at ACL Colchester - session time 2.5 hours)
• Game Design using Unity (Weds evening at ACL Chelmsford) session time 3 hrs
• Introduction to Programming (l1) (Tues evening at ACL Colchester) session time 3 hrs
• Digital and Social Media Marketing (would be the unit of digital marketing) (Tues afternoon at ACL Colchester - follow on from above 4 week course) session time 3 hrs
• Data management and analytics (course concentrating on excel and using excel to analyse data - can introduce a bit of Power BI as well) (tues evening online course) session time 3 hrs

Ideally the trainer/s would be able to start week commencing 2nd November. This role requirement is until Christmas with an option to extend if possible.
