Temporary Trainee Building Surveyor – 12 Month Contract

Location: Harrogate, North Yorkshire

Salary: up to £14.00 per hour D.O.E

Hours: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm

Job Type: Temporary ongoing for approx. 12-18 months, potential to become permanent

This role will start as soon as possible, and our client is looking for candidates who have a desire to learn new skills and a hunger for direct progression! The ideal candidate will possess knowledge or qualifications within Building Surveying or similar, however those with the right personality with knowledge of housing or construction will also be considered. The role is a fully field based position, covering the area from Harrogate to Richmond so candidates should be prepared to travel that distance.

Options are available for candidates on PAYE or self-employed basis.

  • Conduct building surveys on properties to ensure compliance with property regulations
  • Utilise knowledge of the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) to identify and report on hazards
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of survey findings, adhering to project timelines and quality standards
  • Collaborate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates and ensure project objectives are met
  • Access to own vehicle is essential for travel to various sites as part of the role
Skills & Experience
  • Experience conducting stock condition surveys, ideally with knowledge of building regulations preferred but not essential
  • Experience in the construction and relevant trades sector essential
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate, comprehensive survey records
  • Communication and organisational skills to manage workloads effectively and meet project deadlines
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle for site visits
